Johnny Edwards - (vocals and
percussion) Hailing from
Brooklyn, New York Johnny started
his musical career at the tender old age 15 playing drums and performing
at ‘60’s revival shows. He expanded his musical involvement to include
singing and percussion. At the same time, Johnny began performing on
the wedding circuit and backed up club performances by Broadway and
screen artists. He brings to The Generations his love of Oldies, Latin,
Pop and Motown.
Brian Munson
(guitar and vocals) Grew up in Vestal, New York where he began playing
guitar at the age of 12. Brian has played in a variety of bands ever
since moving from New York to Colorado and finally settling in Arizona
in 1985. His musical influences include The Beatles, Eric Clapton, The
Eagles, Steely Dan and Jeff Gollub.
Tom Lassen
(bass guitar and vocals) Began his musical career at the age of 15
playing military clubs on the island of Guam. After returning to the US
he toured with a 5 piece show band and eventually joined the US Airforce.
During his tour of duty he moved to Germany where he continued to
perform in military clubs. After eventually returning to Arizona Tom
played the local blues circuit with the Midnite Blues band and performed
with a country band.
Tom Stutz (drums and
vocals) Keeping the beat, Tom's roots are in Philadelphia. Tom started playing drums at age 11
and has played a wide variety of musical styles ranging from original
country rock to Jimmy Dorsey inspired big bands. Tom played
professionally for several years and continued to be active in the
Philly club circuit before moving to Arizona in 1991. His musical
influences are The Eagles, Steely Dan, Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa.
Joe Broyles
(keyboard & vocals) Discovered to have special musical
talent at the age of three by local Phoenix musicians. Quickly he began
private lessons for the next 16 years. Had the ability to read music
before reading words by the age of four, received many awards at
numerous competitions year after year including nine superior ratings
for solo competition held by the National Federation of Music Teachers
at Arizona State University. In high school, he had the opportunity to
attend the Berklee College of Music by scholarship. This allowed him to
perform at the Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Festival at age sixteen with
Gerry Mulligan and Grammy award winning Diane Schuur.
Joe’s has had the ability to share his talents in many different ways.
By junior high, he was working as a pianist for churches; this has
developed into a continuing career for Joe as he has served in many
capacities from music director to sound engineer and consultant. Joe
spent four years working as the keyboardist of the Phoenix Coyotes Band,
played in the Lightening Fiddle Show with world famous entertainer Barry
Van Wie in Las Vegas, and toured with other various country, rock, and
jazz bands.
